i have a new name for my car... stupidcar.
but it doesn't matter, because i'm hopefully gonna get a new car relatively soon! finally. that volvo is a trouble and a half. let me tell you another story...
so there's this plastic thing under my car that keeps falling down... i think it's supposed to protect my radiator? anyway, i used to just kick it back up, and it would kind of latch in one corner, but it was enough to keep it from dragging on the ground. everyday i would perform this ritual. well, sunday was no different. i kicked up the plastic thing, and started to drive home from church. only, everytime i braked, i would hear this really loud scraping noise, loud enough for me to hear with my windows closed and my radio on. so i drive back to church, and thankfully, there were still a few guys there. and because they're so great, they crawled under my car in their church clothes and proceeded to just unscrew and take the whole plastic thing off.
i thought to myself, well since they could fix that, maybe they can figure out where that long rubber thing that fell on my head one day goes. so i brought it out and they tried to figure out where in my sunroof it belonged. stupid me, i offered to open the sunroof to make it easier. big mistake. as i proceeded to press the button to open the sunroof, you hear loud cracking and crunching noises as shredded plastic starts to fly out of the sunroof. So i think to myself, okay, bad idea. who needs a long rubber thing in your sunroof anyway? i proceeded to close the sunroof, all the way until it stopped. All of a sudden I hear one of the guys say "uh, karen. you closed your sunroof too far." Now if you were me, you're probably thinking, how in the world do you close a sunroof too far? Because that's what I asked. The guys told me to get out of my car and look. I step out of my car, and look on the roof, and lo and behold, my sunroof was closed too far! Like, literally. The sunroof wasn't level with the rest of the roof of my car, it actually dipped into my car!
i need to get rid of this car before it loses more value as more things break off. volvos are evil, i tell you! or maybe it's ford who's evil since everything in volvos went downhill after they took over. regardless, i'm going to get a new car! no more 17mpg, no more random things falling on my head, and hopefully no more $600-$1000 maintenance every other month! wooohoo!
