oh where to begin...
life became more interesting again now that olivia has been back. unfortunately, i have been crazy busy at work, which has caused my blogging frequency to go down quite a bit, and now i've forgotten everything that's happened.
what i do remember is janet & john's wedding, and the, um, little mishap caused by us musicians. the thing is, i've played with the same musicians several times in the same sanctuary, but for some reason, this time, when we began the bridal march, and all the guests stood up, we couldn't see a thing. so we played blindly, going by the speed and timing that was done at the rehersal the night before. unfortunately, the bride ended up walking much slower than at the rehersal, and didn't start walking down the aisle (so i've been told) until halfway through our song, so by the time we finished, janet wasn't even halfway down the aisle. oops. but, again, we couldn't see anything, so we couldn't even tell - that is, until pastor dan said to janet and her father, "that's okay. take your time." so we scrambled around and started playing in the middle of the song again, although, what people told me, is that by the time we started playing again she was already at the front. so we ended up playing for a while with her just standing there. yeah, i have to say that was one of the bigger disasters in my wedding-playing history. but besides that, the wedding was wonderful. good food, good company, good fun dancing, and a great, godly couple is married!
i'm so thankful for today off, as i reallllly needed a day off from work. and what better way to spend the day than a bbq and a visit to house of prime rib, where eric is finally gonna pay up on our, what, 6-year old bet?
and to end, part of my conversation with olivia this morning.
me: you promise?
olivia: yes
me: are you sure? you promise??
olivia: yes... although sometimes my word isn't as good as it used to be.
gee thanks o. what a GREAT friend.
